‘Mr. Baker’ fined for preparing unapproved bakery items and for storing date expired cakes.

On the occassion Ramadan, District Administration of Dhaka and BSTI conducted anti adulteration drive in Turag area of Dhaka. During the drive Mr. Baker, a prominent bakery and pastry shop of the city has been fined BDT 5 lacs on two charges. A team of BSTI officials lead by RAB magistrate Sarwar Alam, inspected the factory of Mr. Baker and found that bakery items were being produced without proper licensing. They also found stale and date expired cakes being stored in the premises. Taka 5 lacs has been fined to Mr. Baker on these two charges.

The same company was also fined BDT 6 lacs in a similar drive 2 years ago.

On a drive against adulteration, branch of KFC restaurant in Uttara has been fined BDT 100,000 by DMP mobile court on 13th June 2017. The branch of KFC is located on road 13 of sector 13 of Uttara Model Town. The famous fast food shop in Uttara has been charged for not labeling processed meat pack with date of expiry.

Falguni Restaurant, Broccoli Restaurant

On the same day, Falguni restaurant in Uttara Sector 9 has been fined BDT 50,000 on the charge of storing stale and wasted food. Broccoli restaurant of the same sector has been fined taka 20 thousands on the charge of producing jelly without proper licensing from BSTI.
